Tom Stevenson works in oil and paints from life. Based in Crediton, Devon his beautifully considered scenes from West Country seascapes to London city streets are evocative studies in light, colour and brushwork.   

Winner of the Phylis Roberts Award in 2014, and the Winsor & Newton prize in 2016, Tom has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the New English Art Club, Chelsea Arts Society and South West Academy.

Starting out at Bath Spa School of Art and Design, Tom later transferred to Plymouth University’s Exeter College of Art and Design, where he graduated in 2007 with a BA(hons) degree in Fine Art.

While at Exeter, Tom spent his time writing short stories about social interactions, situations and locations. Returning his focus to painting shortly after graduating, Tom continues to explore these subjects, creating paintings that are fleeting, spontaneous and redolent of memories common to us all.
